Introduction
Melinda Nyulász is an animation director, illustrator, and art educator, actively working in all three fields. For her, the boundaries between still and moving images blur, and she enjoys treating both as a unified medium. Melinda loves telling stories through images, often without words, conveying emotions through her art. She views her illustrations as capturing moments from a film scene, almost always envisioning her creations in motion.
Artistic approach
When Melinda begins a project, she often doesn't decide whether she is making a film or an illustration, instead allowing the artwork itself to determine the most expressive form. As a result, both a film and an illustration often emerge from the same project, giving her work a unique and special dimension.
Inspiration and influences
Melinda grew up in the countryside, spending her days wandering through forests, fields, and farmlands. This period left a deep impression on her, and she continues to draw strength and inspiration for her life and work from these experiences. Currently, she lives and works in Budapest, where the city's vibrant, color-filled, and sensory-rich environment inspires her just as much as the tranquility and beauty of rural life. Her creations reflect the balance and harmony between these two worlds, while she continually explores new forms and techniques to enrich her artistic expression.
Teaching activities
Melinda is also active as an art educator, sharing her knowledge and experience with the younger generation. She believes that teaching art is not just about imparting technical skills but also about inspiring and encouraging creative thinking.
